Georgia Aquarium

The Georgia Aquarium located in Atlanta, is the worlds largest Aquarium with over 500 species and housing 8.5 million gallons of water! It is quite the sight to see. For me it was simple... They have I believe three whale sharks. I'm there. Along with the whale sharks they also had 500 or so other species on display. For a ocean lover this place is heaven.

I thought I would share some of the footage recorded from my Canon DSLR.

48 hour film festival- "Keep it in Hell"

This year I had the pleasure of working with Good as a Mugg on the 48 hour film festival. For those of you who are not aware of the 48, you are given 48 hours to write, shoot, and edit a film after drawing a random genre out of a bin. Filmmakers from all around the united states participate.  This year I worked as Cinematography.

VERONICA plus MCBRYDE (wedding highlights)

Yesterday I filmed a couple from New Zealand and North Carolina who met in Alaska. I was only there for a little while after the Ceremony but it was a beautiful day and a lot of fun like always working with Exum Photography!

Tim + Cristina (wedding trailer)

Congratulations Tim and Cristina! While on the set for a TV Pilot titled "American DJ" that took place at a wedding in Fayettesville, NC. I also filmed the couples pre ceremony, ceremony and reception. Though other cameramen were there to film the event as well I was able to gather a good amount of footage. Check out the trailer I cut below.

Also, Plains of the Living Dead (my upcoming short) is smoothly coming along as casting and locations have almost completely been locked down. I am beyond excited to work with everyone involved!!!

Aikito

Yesterday consisted of my Mac Pro getting repaired, adding a new lense to the 7D family, getting sushi, and filming an Aikito class in Huntersville, NC for my friend Jon. Below is a video that I put together for him. We filmed for about twenty mins at the house and about an hour at the dojo. Tomorrow I head to Orlando to play a reunion show with my band after 4 years apart! I am very excited to see everyone again!

Official trailer for KICKBACK

Phil Kimbrough and I have been talking about shooting a film together for over a year now and finally a few weeks ago we were able to do so. KICKBACK is a good cop/bad cop action film with enough high intensity to keep you constantly glued to your seat. Overall I had a blast and I can't wait for it to be played at the Elon film festival later on this year. The film in its entirety is in post production but I did put together a trailer for it.

Brett Mullen's first feature film

Thats right! I am in Pre Production for my first feature film. Saturday I had auditions in Gibsonville, NC with an amazing turnout! The crew, cast, make-up, EVERYONE involved so far has unbelievable skills and I am so lucky to have you all on board with me. Shooting locations take place from the great smokies to the outerbanks. Plains of the living dead will be shot this summer and fall so check back here for updates!

Blackberry/iPHONE mobile applications

A couple weeks ago I shot an application commercial for AFK in Raleigh.  Their product is designed to allow users of several models of cell phones to operate crucial menus in Real-time and In-game PTPs. I rarely get a chance to create motion graphic heavy content so this was a lot of fun creating the menus and cellphone layers. 

Last week I shot BROLL for Miller Light in Charlotte, NC. I spent 10 hours total in the Miller Light tent filming people enjoying their beer and at the Miller Light stage with rappers Nelly and Ginuwine. I'll try and cut some of the raw footage and place it online soon.

Love is Dead

Love is Dead is Monkey Whales 48 hour film festival entry I worked on in Greensboro, NC.  The film won both audience award and best edit. So now I officially have a best editor award and earlier last year I won best cinematography at a Sci Fi festival.

This saturday starts the short film "Kickback" that I am Camera on. I'm very excited to see the turn out of this film.

TOP RECRUITER (TV pilot)

Top Recruiter is a reality based TV SERIES written by Chris Lavoie and Jim Shaki. I had the great opportunity of being Cinematographer and later becoming the editor on the series pilot. There has been big buzz in the recruiting industry about this film! This year I will be traveling with the film to Texas, Las Vegas, Cali, Atlanta and NYC so that too is great news. 

This past Wednesday I shot a Mobile Applications spot for Iphones and Blackberries. The best part is that I ended up actually in the commercial because some of the talent fell through.

PUZZLE BOX ( short film )

Vela Films and I worked on a short together called "Puzzle Box".  Production took two days and a couple boxes of pizza later and it was done. I worked as Director of Photography as well as Editor on this piece. It was a ton of fun working with Vela and I can't wait to shoot our next film "Cricket" when it is finished. It currently is being send to Film Festivals.

Chesapeake Bay, VA

The last month for me has been the busiest work related month in my life. Turning over 20 projects or more I feel like a machine.  I am just about to wrap my 3rd TV pilot in the last 4 months and I couldn't be more excited to get those done so I can start writing my feature length idea. My meals will have to continue to consist of energy drinks and coffee for the meantime as I finish up my plate of work for February.

HEATHER + MADISON (wedding highlights)

Another video done... Lucky for me today wasn't totally a waste. It started out with losing my computer hard drive but I did meet with a client and land a corporate gig in Greensboro on the 7th on January. 

Weddings have really been taking off for me the last few month and I am really starting to get noticed. I just got done wrapping a video for Davids Bridal, Filmed two wedding shows in the Triad and was asked to cut a promo video for the president of the Carolina Wedding Association.

Also the TV Pilot called "Top Recruiter" is almost wrapped. I had a great opportunity to be Director of Photography and Editor. We will be heading to Texas, California, Georgia, and NYC for the official showings.

AMBER + JOSH (wedding Highlights)

Recently I had the chance to film a wedding for a couple that grew up in my home town in Hammondsport, NY. They ended up getting married in Charleston, SC which was great because I stayed an extra day down there and had one of the best times I've had this year. If you ever get a chance to visit make sure you hit up the market, get some food at the noisy oyster, and watch the ships go by.

Sorry for the late update everyone! Since the last update I have completed 3 highlights, a live show at Greene St, a web video for CCL, the ending sceen for the TV Pilot I'm filming, a European Commerical for "Springer" and a trailer for a feature film called "CHAINS". Most of the footage can not be realeased yet but I'll post them as soon as I get permission.

The wedding below are highlights from Nicole and Ben's wedding in Charlotte, NC. It was freezing but a blast shooting downtown. The bride actually went bowling... i know, awesome. Anyways, enjoy the highlights!

TAYLOR + MATT (wedding Highlights)

A few weeks ago I got the chance to film at NASCAR driver Kyle Petty's Estate for Taylor and Matt's wedding. I have been working all day long on thier edit and decided to cut out a little section for the blog. I hope everyone enjoys it! Carribean Carnival 2009 (Jamestown, NC)

Hey everyone! About a month ago I went to the 2009 Carribean Carnival in Jamestown, NC. I shot a bunch of B-Roll for the staff to be used on thier website. It was a ton of fun and all the talent there was unbelievable. Some of the footage I sliced together today and made a short music bit.

REBECCA AND CO/PERCH (30 second TV Spot)

This month I Filmed and Edited the 2009 Fall campain for Rebecca and CO/Perch located in Greensboro, NC and Winston-Salem, NC.

The commercial is looking to air this week during "Gossip Girl", "Rachael Ray", "Regis and Kelly" and "Project Runway" as I prepare a Christmas cut for December.

Photographer Andrew Day "www.andrewdayphotography.com" and I teamed up to create one great product with the help of models Anne-Marie Rhodes (miss sprint cut), Whitney Melton and Hannah Di Dio. I'd also like to thank Anna Hodges and Christy Day for setup and lighting.

The day couldn't have been more beautiful. I actually went back to Childress Vineyards the following week for a wine tasting/tour and they had an Irish band playing down in the courtyard where Dione and Carlos got married. Great wine, great layout, great people! Wineries would have to be one of my favorite spots to film weddings.
